Well, it looks like we will be signing the contracts on the Levittown house this week. In anticipation, I descided it was time to add some tools to my small collection. Knowing I will be doing a lot of the work myself, along with family members I picked up some cordless DeWalt tools. I have always used the internet to get the best deals, and managed to save a bunch on these. Home depot retails the DeWalt 4 pack (set) of cordless stuff for $499 (crazy, I know), it includes the following:

DeWalt Heavy-Duty XRP™ 18V Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit

  • DC925 XRP™ 18V cordless hammerdrill with DEWALT built high power motor delivers 510 unit watts out of power
  • Heavy-duty 1/2″ self-tightening chuck tightens throughout operation providing superior bit gripping torque
  • DC390 XRP™ 18V circular saw with 6-1/2″ carbide blade and rip fence can cut 2×4’s at a 45° angle in a single pass
  • DC385 XRP™ 18V cordless reciprocating saw with keyless blade clamp allows for quick blade change without touching blade or reciprocating shaft
  • DW919 18V flexible floodlight provides hands-free use
  • Two Batteries and 1Hr Quick Charger

I picked it up brand new, sealed, for under $310 with shipping to my door! See picture below…

I also picked up the cordless jig saw to add to the above set, for under $100 delivered to my door on ebay. Home depot wanted over $150 for it.

We also went out to check out appliances, tiles, and kitchen cabinets this weekend. Wew! things are expensive, but it will be fun, and be done to my tastes my wife’s tastes.

Now I just need a house to work on, time to wait for the closing!
